The only fellowship trained, sports medicine orthopedic surgeon in St. Charles County.
As an athlete, you want a doctor who understands how important it is to get back to your routine. Whether you just have an active lifestyle, or you're a runner, college basketball player, high school wrestler, or professional quarterback — you want a doctor who can help you get back in the game.
I am an Orthopedic Surgeon who chose to focus on sports medicine because I am an athlete and appreciate the drive and commitment it takes to remain active. I spent an extra year after my residency to focus on athletes — everyone from professional athletes (like players for the Indianapolis Colts) to high school athletes and weekend warriors. I live locally with my wife and three daughters. Besides my family, my interests outside of sports medicine include: soccer, fly-fishing, reading, long distance running, and general athletics.
You'll notice I am a DO doctor, which is a doctor of osteopathy. What does that mean to you? It means I've attended an osteopathic medical school and am fully licensed to prescribe medication and perform surgery. Together we can work to correct or improve sports injuries and you can get back to your routine. And that doesn't always mean surgery. Today, sports medicine focuses on the prevention, diagnosis, treatment, and rehabilitation of injuries.
The practice of sports medicine usually involves a cooperative approach between the orthopedic surgeon, physical therapist, athletic trainer (if appropriate), and most importantly the patient. Download my C.V. for specific details about my education and training. When you're ready, contact my office at SCOSA to set up an appointment and let's talk about getting you back to your game.
